SB-11 Prototype Chassis

We have been working on some exciting projects, bike builds and parts. One of those is our new SB-11 chassis kit. This is a bespoke frame kit made in house at EMESCO Designs. The chassis is designed to house a GSXR-1100 engine but has been designed in a manner that if needed we can adapt different engines and running gear. Modern race bike geometry, superbike chassis adjustability with adjustable yokes, adjustable steering head angle and adjustable swing arm pivot.

We have machined the whole frame side and pivot from one piece of billet using our 5 axis CNC machining centre. That is then beautifully tig welded together. We have since made some design tweaks to version 1 (as seen in the photograph) which we look forward to showing when these kits are available. These kits can be used for multiple style of motorcycles such as a modern looking streetfighter, muscle bike, café racer and even a street tracker style.

As well as the frame, swing arm, we also fabricate our aluminium fuel tanks in house, which we start with a sheet of aluminium and handcraft using a mixture of old school and modern metal shaping techniques like the English wheel, shrinker/stretcher, power hammers etc.

So much time goes into design as well as manufacturing, to bring our designs to life before machining or fabricating we use 3D printing and the black subframe pieces (in the photograph) are 3D printed from plastic so we can check fitment and that we are happy with our designs. It is a great way to see a physical piece and bring the CAD drawing to life and fit them onto the bike. The bolt on subframe mounts are the next piece that we need to machine from aluminium.

We are excited to be able to offer these kits for sale and all the information needed for them will be in the website store shortly. We wanted to use this platform to create a modern chassis with all the styling cues and geometry adjustability of a superbike/motogp bike. We also love retro superbikes, classic motorcycles and icons of the past. This made us want to offer another variation of this chassis kit and led us to create a Version 2 to this chassis kit which offers a slightly different “retro” style but still in keeping with modern engineering and cutting edge technology……. We can’t wait to be able show you !
